I thought that I would have prepared something for black history month before now, but for some reason, I couldn’t seem to find my muse. During the Grammy’s, the rapper, Kendrick Lamar’s performance seemed to inspire something in me. I couldn’t hear what he was saying because I was in the kitchen. But, when he and his performers entered the stage, they were shackled together. This got my attention, and reminded me of poems that I wrote a few years ago called, There’s a Purpose for the Pain and The Strength of a Thousand Generations. You can hear me reciting them by following the Podbean link below. I hope that you enjoy them.
